
Model, activist and mother Christy Turlington Burns and (RED), the brand designed to engage business and consumer power to help eliminate AIDS in Africa, hosted an intimate brunch with guests including CEO of (RED) Susan Smith Ellis in honor of Mother’s Day on Saturday, April 25 at Del Posto Ristorante in New York City, NY. Christy Turlington held the brunch to celebrate mothers around the world and to educate her friends and peers on (RED) and the Global Fund’s fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. Chef Mario Batali hand-selected the day’s brunch menu and guests had a special sneak-preview of upcoming (RED) product partnerships.
(RED) is a brand designed to engage the private sector in raising awareness and funds for the Global Fund, to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. Since its launch in the Spring of 2006, more than $130 million has been generated by (RED) for the Global Fund. (RED) money is at work in Swaziland, Rwanda, Ghana and Lesotho.
