American Idol Results Show 2/25/10

It’s time for the results for American Idol.  After watching the ladies and the men sing for the past two nights and hearing the judges opinions on their song choices, their voices and their performances – it’s America’s turn.

The 24 finalists opened the show with the song, ‘American Boy’.  As we’ve come to expect from Ryan Seacrest, he dragged out the results part of the show (how else could they get an hour out of the show?).   The first lady to be eliminated from American Idol was Janelle Wheeler.  The second contestant who was eliminated was Ashley Rodriguez.

American Idol alumni, Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen were the musical performers for the first round of eliminations.  American Idol Season 8 finalist, Allison Iraheta,  sang ‘Scars’ and American Idol winner, Kris Allen sang ‘Let it Be’ by the Beatles.

Kris Allen traveled to Haiti with the United Nations Foundation to raise further awareness of the country’s continuing needs after last month’s earthquake. During Allen’s performance there was footage of his emotional trip to raise awareness and funds that will benefit those in need.   During the show viewers were asked to support the efforts in Haiti by donating money.

The first man to be eliminated from American Idol was Joe Munoz and the second man to be eliminated was Tyler Grady.

Tyler Grady felt the judges constructive critcism after last night’s perfomance came a little too late.  Simon was seen whispering “good point” in response to the statment.

What do you think about tonight’s results show.  Are you surprised?
