The season finale of Glee Club begins with a meeting in the Principals office. If the Glee Club doesn’t win regionals the Glee Club will be disbanded. The members of the Glee Club meet at Mr. Schuester’s apartment to nominate songs for regionals.
Unfortunately, it is more like a scene from a funeral than a nomination ceremony. Quinn is remembering her first time with Puck while everyone else is either crying or sulking now that they know that Sue Sylvester is a judge at regionals. They are all sure Sue will never let them win. She did tell the girls at Cheerios that she was going to “crush” them.
Mr. Schuester decides the Glee Club is going to perform a Journey medley. After all, “who cares what we do when we get there – when the getting there is so much fun”.
Josh Groban, Olivia Newton-John and Coach Sue Sylvester are the judges at the regionals.
At regionals, Finn tells Rachel he loves her just before singing, “Faithfully”. The group then performs “Anyway You Want It” and “Don’t Stop Believing”.
Quinn’s mother shows up at regionals (if you recall Quinn’s mother cut off all ties with her daughter when she became pregnant). Quinn’s mother confesses that she kicked her father out because he was having an affair. She asks Quinn to come home – she’ll turn the guest room into a nursery. Quinn responds by saying, “My water just broke”.
Glee’s arch nemisis, Vocal Adrenaline, sang “Bohemiam Rhapsody” by Queen while Quinn is in labor. A fitting song for someone in labor. Although most of the Glee Club being in the room while Quinn gives birth is a bit unrealistic. It’s a girl!!
Rachel asks her mother, Shelby – who is also the teacher for the Glee club for Vocal Adrenaline, to come teach at her school and co-direct with Mr. Schuester. Shelby responds by saying she doesn’t want to be a part of the Glee Club anymore. She is tired and has already missed out on too much – including having a family.
Sue walks into the judging room and tells Olivia Newton John, “You’re Dead to Me”. Josh Groban questions why Sue is even a judge to which Sue responds, “Kiss My Ass, Josh Groban”. Typical Sue Sylvester response.
The regional champions are Vocal Adrenaline!! The Glee Club is left devastated – they didn’t even place.
Meanwhile, Quinn asks Puck if he loves her to which he responds, “yes and even more so now”. The baby’s name is Beth. Shelby shows up at the hospital to see the baby. It turns out that Shelby adopts the baby.
Mr. Schuester professes his love to Emma and they seal it with a kiss.
The Glee Club tells Mr. Schuester they don’t care what the judges say – they won because they had Mr. Schuester as a teacher. It was a very touching scene with all of them telling Mr. Schuester how the Glee Club has changed them and made them better people. “To Sir With Love” is the perfect song for what the Glee Club thinks of Mr. Schuester.
Sue gets the Glee Club another year.
Mr. Schuester returns the favor for the Glee Club and sings, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with Puck.
Another great episode for Glee. This show is definitely the “feel good” show of the season!! What do you think??
