John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston have dropped the extortion charges against Tarino Lightbourne and Pleasant Bridgewater.  The duo allegedly attempted to extort $25 million from the Travolta family in return for keeping an ambulance waiver secret, which included details about their son Jet’s untimely death from a seizure back in January of 2009.

The first trial resulted in a mistrial.  The Counsel of the Attorney General announced, “Mr. Travolta is no longer interested in pursuing the matter because it has caused his family great emotional distress.”

Travolta, who with wife Kelly Preston are expecting a baby boy in a few weeks said,  “It was finally time to put this matter behind us … I concluded that it was in my family’s best interest for me not to voluntarily return to the Bahamas to testify a second time at trial.”
