David Arquette appeared on Live With Regis & Kelly to promote his upcoming movie, Scream 4!!

Of course – the topic of Courteney Cox Arquette, his wife who he is separated from, came up.

Arquette defended his recent interview with Howard Stern saying the media “took it out of context”.  Arquette stated,

“I love my wife, she’s an incredible women and we are just in different places right now.  There’s going to be a story coming out that said I was a cheater and I was faithful to my wife for 11 years.  Completely devoted.  We have been separated for a while…….we also had an agreement that we could date other people.  I didn’t want to be labeled as a cheater.”

Arquette lightened the mood when he said, “awkward…not morning tv.”   He did say that he there is always a chance that he and Cox can get back together.  They still keep in touch and had dinner last night.

Arquette stated that he and Cox are in different places in their lives right now.  She wants calm and he is opening a club.
