Tracy Morgan aka Tracy Jordan, is recovering from a kidney transplant and will miss at least two episodes of 30 Rock, according to
“Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery. He is looking forward to going back to work after the holidays,” said a rep for Morgan.
The 42-year-old comedian underwent the surgery around December 10 and will be out two or three episodes of the NBC comedy that will air in March.
Executive producer Tina Fey and the writing team plan to address his absence “by saying he has some sort of a meltdown because of a good thing that’s happened to him,” EW reports.
Morgan is the second member of the cast to undergo a kidney transplant. Grizz Chapman, who serves as a member of Tracy’s security detail on the show, underwent surgery earlier this year. He’s the national spokesperson for the Kidney Foundation.
