Gwen Stefani made a very generous donation of $1 million Wednesday to Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to help in the relief and recovery effort in Japan.

“I’ve been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture,” Stefani said. “The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”

On Saturday, the No Doubt frontwoman and Gavin Rossdale took their sons, Kingston, 4 and little brother Zuma, 2, to the to the Science Center at Exposition Park  in Los Angeles, California.

Always making a fashion statement, Kingston wore a furry vest for the family day out.

In addition to Stefani’s donation, she also designed a Harajuku Lovers T-shirt, which will be available through www.nodoubt.com with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting the relief effort in Japan.
