Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson made an appearance on American Idol tonight.
Rihanna gave an outstanding performance of her song California King Bed, which she sang at the ACM Awards last week with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles. The 23-year-old recording artist was just nominated for 18 awards for the 2011 Billboard Awards, including Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and Top R&B Artist.
Kelly gave an amazing performance of her duet with Jason Aldean, Don’t You Wanna Stay.

Rihanna lacked power and range. This was not one of her
worse performances. Then again, this is the first time
I have seen her live. Kelly Clarkson showed power and
range along with emotion…excellent performance. I am
stunned that the judges were so rude to Clarkson and so
enthusiastic towards Rihanna based on both performances.
