Sex and the City fans should rejoice as apparently Sarah Jessica Parker plans to produce a television series starring her much loved SATC character Carrie Bradshaw.

The Daily Mail reports that the relevant producers met up in Hollywood last week to discuss details about the new show. A source revealed, “Ultimately Darren Star – the man who created the hit series – will have the overall say, but everyone agreed a TV show is the direction they want to take the franchise in” and ” Sarah Jessica Parker will be producing. She was worried about doing another film after the bad  reaction to the SATC2 movie, but a TV show is definitely something she wants to happen.”

There were rumors that a SATC prequel was in the works, with Elizabeth Olsen as Carrie, Blake Lively as Samantha, Selena Gomez as Charlotte, and Emma Roberts as Miranda. However, the source added that producers “want to make the TV series before doing another film.”
