Naomi Watts now has two sons with actor and longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber, but before she met him she dated the late Brokeback Mountain Heath Ledger, and in a recent interview with More magazine, Watts described their relationship as “beautiful.”
The 43-year-old actress and Ledger dated for about two years. The relationship ended in 2004 and Ledger died four years later at the age of 28.
When asked about her relationship with Ledger, Watts called it “good times” and said Ledger “was a man who was completely full of joy, and there was a lot of laughing and affection. He was really a very special soul and made a great impact on my life.”
She also praised his acting abilities, commenting that Ledger was a “great actor, but I know there was so much more to come. And it’s such a tragedy for his little daughter.”
Ledger had a daughter with fiancee and Dawsons Creek actress Michelle Williams.
