The Nate Berkus Show will end its run after completing its second season in May 2012. The interior decorating-centered show is one of three spin offs from The Oprah Winfrey Show. The two others shows, Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz, have been proven to be more popular.
After careful consideration, we have decided that The Nate Berkus Show will not return for a third season in the fall,” Sony and Harpo said in a joint statement to Broadcasting & Cable. “We are grateful for the hard work and heart that Nate, [executive producer] Corin Nelson and their entire team have poured into the show, and we’re very proud of what they’ve delivered.”
Added Berkus, “I’m incredibly proud of my hard-working and talented staff, and proud of the show we were able to produce every day.”
The news of the cancellation is just another change in the daytime talk show landscape. Next year, Survivor’s Jeff Probst, Queen Latifah’s and Ricki Lake will each host their own show, joining the daytime chatfest .
Will you miss Nate and his decoration skills? Do you plan on tuning into the new shows next fall??
