Courtney Love was spotted a bit off balance outside Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles (Jan 13, 2012).

While seeing Love off balance is not a rare occurrence – she was sporting two black eyes and a bruise on the right side of her face.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that she tweeted a photo celebrating New Year’s Eve with pal, Gwyneth Paltrow, hanging out and enjoying themselves.  What happened in to cause the bruised and battered look?  At first I thought maybe she had some plastic surgery.  Afterall, it is Hollywood.  But taking a closer look you see the bruise on the side of her face  - making it look more like she was beaten.

Calls to her rep regarding the cause of the black eyes and bruise to her face have gone unanswered.

Any ideas as to what happened?  The bruises are before she came stumbling out of the Chateau – not after.
