Billy Bob Thornton is writing and directing a movie called “And Then We Drove,” reportedly about his tumultous relationship with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

According to Film School Rejects, the producer of “And Then We Drove,” Alexander Rodnyansky explained that he decided to fund the movie because he “found the story amazing. It’s a pretty new combination of genres to put into one movie” and “it’s based on his experiences in many ways.”

Thornton explained that the movie is about, “a guy who’s on a road trip and picks up this girl along the way, and what happens to them. It’s about the question of life: ‘What is this? Where do I fit in?”

As a director, Thornton is best known for directing “Sling Blade” in 1996.
