President Barack Obama was joined by legendary singer Al Green at the Democratic Fundraiser on Thursday.
A month ago, at an appearance at the Apollo Theater in New York, Obama launched into a brief rendition of Green’s “Lets Stay Together.” Billboard.com reported, when Green joined Obama on Thursday he thanked him, prompting an audience member to shout, “Give us a verse!”
The president declined to give an encore performance at that time, telling the people in attendance that he “took a chance at the Apollo and I’m not going to take a chance again.” Obama continued saying:

“After re-election I might go on tour with the good reverend — be his opening act. I don’t want to lose any further votes because of my singing voice.”
The president’s short attempt at the song quickly went viral and his campaign even launched a ring tone of the president singing it!
Take a listen to Obama singing the song below! It’s only one small line, but he’s not half bad!
