Nolan learns that Emily has decided against suspending her hunt for revenge. Even though Emily explains that her decision was based on the fact that Victoria chose to imply that David Clarke raped her instead of admitting to their love affair, Nolan still believes that Emily’s mission is not worth the collateral damage it will inevitability cause. Later that day Nolan goes to the Stowaway Tavern to see how Jack is recovering from the attack and absence of Amanda. Still under the belief that Amanda and Nolan were friends, Jack asks Nolan for insight on Amanda’s current whereabouts, but Nolan doesn’t provide any useful information. When Jack finds a copy of the Mason Treadwell/Amanda Clarke interview tape that was left behind during the robbery that led to his attack, he decides to use it as a bargaining chip to make Amanda come out of hiding. After learning that Jack has this tape, Nolan volunteers to retrieve the tape and accuses Emily of causing enough damage in Jack’s life.

Nolan’s attempt to get the tape from Jack fails, which forces Emily to take matters into her own hands. Emily convinces Amanda to call Jack and request that he give her the tape. Amanda struggles with the plan because she has fallen in love with Jack. Regardless, Emily reminds her that Victoria Grayson will make Jack a target if she learns that he has the tape. When Jack arrives at Amanda’s motel room and witnesses her cold greeting, he starts to interrogate her about her true feelings for him. She refuses to provide honest answers to his questions. As a result, he decides to keep the video tape claiming it apparently will be his only access to answers. Jack takes the tape to Nolan and has him play the footage. On the tape is a young Amanda Clarke begging Treadwell to find Victoria because she could help prove her father’s innocence. Jack returns to Amanda’s hotel in the hopes that she will let him help her instead of pushing him away. Amanda immediately calls Emily and asks why she forced her to lie to Jack if she was going to let him watch the tape anyways. Even though Emily insists that she did not let Jack watch the tape, Amanda decides to play this game her way from here on out and try to work things out with Jack. Emily tries to advise her against it, until Grandpa Grayson takes her cellphone and ends the call insisting that she spend some quality time with her future family-in-laws.

Victoria has organized a private family soiree to celebrate Daniel’s engagement and the arrival of Grandpa Grayson. During the family gathering, Conrad apologizes to Charlotte for giving her the cold-shoulder and taking his frustration towards Victoria out on her. Charlotte starts to reminisce about her first experience with heartbreak and how Conrad sat with her for hours to comfort her. She admits that at that moment she realized she could endure anything as long as Conrad was in her corner. Charlotte’s confession softens Conrad’s heart slightly causing him to embrace her and promise that he will always be in her corner. After witnessing Conrad’s willingness to let go of his anger and express love for Charlotte, Emily decides to abort her plan of having Charlotte discover the truth about her real biological father, David Clarke, via a DVD of the Treadwell tapes.

Jack crashes the Grayson family dinner and accuses Victoria of lying about David Clarke all these years and abandoning Amanda when she was just a little girl. Once Jack leaves, Conrad decides to really throw Victoria under the bus by sharing the truth about her love affair with David Clarke to the family. He tells Daniel that David Clarke never raped Victoria since they were having an ongoing affair. Then, he informs Charlotte that David Clarke is her biological father. So much for keeping up the pretenses of an amicable divorce for Grandpa Grayson. Before Conrad leaves, Grandpa Grayson criticizes Conrad for forcing his children to participate in this charade for so long. This comment pushes a button causing Conrad to insist that he learned from the best. Concerned that an ugly divorce will destroy the company he built from the ground up, Grandpa Grayson decides that it might be time for Conrad to step down as CEO and allow Daniel to take his place.

When Emily returns to the beach house, she discovers that the secret compartment in her living room floor that houses her father’s infinity box, journals, and evidence of the progress made during her revenge plot has been tampered with. All that remained was a guest reply card for Daniel and Emily’s engagement party. The following message was written on the card: Miss Emily Thorne will be attending.
