Tonight on Top Chef Texas, Grayson feels guilty because of Chris J going home, The chicken salad was HER idea that he went home for.
When the chefs enter the kitchen, there stands Padma and a whole lot of pancakes. In rides Peewee Herman on his bike. In 20 minutes, they have to make pancakes. Simple, right? The winner wins $5,000.
Everyone adds their own creativity and elegance when making their pancakes. Grayson makes Minnie Mouse and Paul experiments with liquid nitrogen. When Pee-Wee comes around, his facial expressions are enough for the chefs to figure out what he’s saying. He kept telling them it was the best pancake he’s ever had. The best pancake to him overall was Ed’s.
For the elimination challenge, they are going back to the Alamo. They have to create a family style lunch for Pee-Wee and the judges. The twist? There is no car because they will be on bike. Their budget is $100. They have 3 hours to find their food and a restaurant to cook it in.
They start out at the farmer’s market, which seems reasonable. All of the chefs are hoping they can negotiate with the owners of the restaurant for their spices and any extra ingredients that they need. When they leave, Grayson follows Paul but eventually finds a restaurant. Sarah gets a little lost but finds a place to cook. Lindsay still needs to get some things and runs into Rosario’s which is the same place that Grayson is already cooking at. She tries to go back to Mad Hatter’s and Sarah has beaten her to Mad Hatter’s.

Lindsay arrives at a restaurant. It’s a small kitchen but she’ll make it work.
Ed seems to be getting along with his boss because they asked him to make eggs over easy for them. When they are on their way back, Grayson has to carry hers in her hand and boy is it HOT!
At the judges table, they are all called out and they all did a great job, except for minor criticism. The winner of the challenge is Lindsay. Ed is also safe but Grayson, Paul, and Sarah are up for elimination.
Unfortunately, Grayson was the one eliminated.
However, it is not over. The chefs are informed that there has been a challenge called Last Chance Kitchen going on while they were competing. The eliminated chefs got a second chance at winning a spot back into the competition. They will be joining them next week.
