It’s judgement day for Zoe, because her father is getting closer and closer … and closer to Blue Bell for the operation to save George’s father. Zoe is freaking out from stress.
Lavon goes to talk to Lemon, and she is still obsessed with the idea that Zoe is out to ruin her life, and feels that Zoe’s moment is at hand.
Wade and Zoe have a chat over the situation, and he cannot talk her out of it. Now, the owner of the bar is having a cocktail contest between Wade and Shelley for the 30th anniversary of the bar’s opening. The prize? $500 and the right to name a new (the only) signature cocktail. Man, Shelley fainted at the very sound of those 500 smackers.
George has a little quality time with her father, and then talks to Lemon. He is sick and tired of her conspiracy theories and tells her that Zoe and her father are like Lemon and her mother, making her see the light, or dark, depending on how you look at it.
Zoe’s father arrives (to lots of dramatic buildup), and he greets Zoe lovingly, which I think surprised Zoe. But what surprised her even more was that he demanded to have her assist him in conducting the surgery. WHOA! Zoe’s anger just wavered big time!
During the surgery, Zoe’s father asks her about her relationship with George, but she claims there is none.
The cocktail contest is picking up, and Lavon is getting in the thick of it. He needs drinks and Wade is feeling the pressure, but partially because his opponent is sabotaging his concoctions. Still, Lavon decides to join him and be his taste tester. I’m jealous, man!
The operation is complete, and Zoe’s father even allowed her to handle a big part of it herself – that’s trust that only a surgeon father can place in his daughter. George’s father is going to be just fine, and he and his mother are ecstatic. Lemon, though, I’m not so sure.
Zoe’s father wants to have a positive relationship with her. I think Zoe is really losing her will to fight with her father – I mean, Ethan, her friend and colleague.
Lemon has not taken George’s advice and let go of her Zoe conspiracy theory, and is determined to destroy Zoe Hart. Uh-oh …
Addie is not buying the bid for friendship between Zoe and her father, and tells Zoe that adopted or not, that man is still her father.
Lemon finally decides to keep her friends close, and her enemies even closer … by making Zoe Hart her best friend. She asks George to help her throw a special dinner for her and her father. He’s skeptical at first, but consents to it.
Zoe’s father comes to visit her home and accidentally finds the papers to change her name, and she starts to panic. George interrupts and extends the invitation. Everyone agrees and the plan is set in motion.
Lemon finally reveals the ulterior motive for her plot against Zoe: to make sure she won’t crash her wedding. Seriously? All that for a wedding insurance policy.
Wade’s brewing is going great and Lavon is certain he has a gift for it, the same way he had a gift for football, but Wade denies it.
Brick finds out about Lemon’s plot, and he is NOT happy, but before Lemon can force him to play along, he gets a call and needs to skip out, plus Lemon got the menu completely wrong!
George strikes up a conversation with Ethan, but kinda strikes out with him. A bit of an awkward moment.
Ethan is not an idiot, and can read the situation with Zoe, Lemon and George. He tries to step in and protect Zoe from getting hurt, but Zoe gets angry at last and flips out on him. A little late, and not exactly the best place, but she does it anyway and snaps in his face. I’m not sure who to feel worse for!
The party at the Rammer Jammer is going strong and its time for the cocktail contest, and the winner is … Shelley! Man, that’s the second time she fainted in one episode. The owner’s daughter, Wanda, is still making passes at Wade, but he’s taken, baby!
Zoe and Lemon have a heart to Hart (get it?) talk, and Zoe tells her to “cut the crap,” making it clear that she has no intention of telling George anything that can destroy their relationship. She doesn’t want to be the one to break George’s heart, and throws the truth in Lemon’s face. Lemon won’t believe her, but Zoe stands firm by her words. You go, girl!
We see Lavon drunk, or tipsy, for the first time. He and Wade talk to Zoe about the last day or two, and I think she’s gong to get over it.
Lavon discovers that Wade didn’t serve his best stuff at the contest, and lost because he intends to open his own bar and didn’t want to sell out. He loves the idea.
Ethan shows up at Zoe’s house and confronts her. He heavily regrets everything he has done (and not done) and apologizes for everything. He wants to be her father again, and I think she’s willing to give him a second chance.
George and Lemon have a big heartfelt talk, and George apologizes for the things he said to her before. He sends her to the Rammer Jammer. He heads there a minute later and, for a moment, sees a drunk Lavon kissing Lemon! DUDE!! Seriously?!
George probably doesn’t fully realize that he wasn’t just seeing things, but I can’t wait to find out what happens next week, so make sure to join us for another new Hart of Dixie!
