Posted by | 0 Comments »

Anyone who has an American Express card knows about Membership Rewards. Those points that you can save for a rainy day or better yet – for the holidays.

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the Membership Rewards program has launched Mobile Gift Cards, allowing Cardmembers to use Membership Rewards points for smartphone-enabled gift cards and use them instantly to pay with their smartphones.

The Mobile Gift Cards are currently available for eight different retailers including: Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy, PBteen®, Pottery Barn®, Pottery Barn Kids®, West Elm® and Williams-Sonoma®.

You no longer have to wait for the gift cards to arrive in the mail, you can get them when you need them. When you are making a purchase it is easy to use your reward points.

  • Log into your Membership Rewards account by using the American Express app or visiting AmericanExpress.com from a smartphone
  • Browse the Mobile Gift Card catalog and use points for the desired gift card
  • When ready to use, select the gift card in your account’s Gift Card Wallet
  • Select “tap to pay” from a smartphone and show the barcode and Gift Card number at checkout

In addition to in-store purchases, Cardmembers can also use Mobile Gift Cards to pay for items online or over the phone.

In addition to the Mobile Gift Cards American Express is providing 20% off purchases from Michael Kors, Bose, LG, Wine Enthusiast, and Dyson!   It’s only until November 30th, so be sure to check it out now.  Click here to view these great deals from these featured brands.
