Yahoo has released its most searched terms for 2012 and landing in the top 10 was Kim Kardashian. No surprise given her quickie marriage to Chris Humphries and the fact she is dating one of the most talked about men in the world, Kanye West.

The search term “election” topped the list of searches, with the term “political polls” coming in at No. 8 of the top 10 Yahoo! searches of the year.

Six famous women landed in the top 10 for 2012. Also landing in the top ten was technology with the iPhone 5 coming in at number two.

Yahoo! Inc compiles its annual search lists based on aggregated visitor activity on the network and billions of consumer searches.
