Still hot on the trail to find out where the key Ellen left behind leads to, Mozzie takes on a new gig as a cabbie, but when he realizes another one of his own is operating under his medallion number he wants to see justice served. Peter winds up with a legitimate case and the team goes to work on this forgery and money laundering case.

As Peter and Neal begin their investigation, they wind up at an iconic jazz club that is on the verge of reopening. Suspicious that the owners, two brothers, Delman a convicted criminal, and Angelo, an employee of the Taxi and Limousine commission are using the club as a front, Peter sends Diana in to pose as a cigar girl in the hopes of getting the information they need to bust this operation.

After snooping around and talking with Angelo, Diane suspects that while he’s the one involved in selling the stolen medallions, his brother, who is trying to turn his life around after serving time hasn’t a clue as to what his brother is up to. He’s so focused on turning the club into a success that it’s almost as if he doesn’t want to see what’s right in front of him.

With a plan in motion to bust the brothers and catch them in the act of handing over a stolen medallion for cash, Peter, Neal and the team recruit June to help them out. After getting her a gig to sing at the opening, Neal’s able to get into the safe, switch out one of the medallions for one that will melt, thus causing Luke, the owner of Gotham Cab where Mozzie “worked” out of, to cause a scene and get all three men in one location so the FBI can bust them. The plan works, but in a moment of brotherly love, Angelo tells Peter that his brother wasn’t aware of what was going on to save him from being sent back to prison.

With this case wrapped up Neal and Mozzie get back to work on the mystery of the key. Neal has an epiphany after talking with Angelo and realizes his focus has been wrong. The duo head to a pier in Queens where Neal used to go and realize the missing piece in the key’s landscape; the Empire State building. For Peter and Jones, they aren’t far behind in figuring out the same.
