Until recently, Olivia Sprauer was a high school English teacher, in Boca Raton, Florida. That is, until the principal at the Martin County high school where she taught, got a hold of some racy swimsuit photos that he presumed was Ms. Sprauer.
On April 29, Olivia Sprauer was called into principal Alfred Fabrizio’s office. It was there she was shown a photo of herself posing provocatively in a swimsuit, and immediately confirmed that indeed it was her. Sprauer was then asked to resign effective immediately.
Olivia, who models under the name Victoria James, began teaching freshmen and junior students in 2011. In February 2013, Olivia/Victoria began modeling for XXXTremeVisionRadio, where she’s done mostly bikini photo shoots. However, it was discovered on her Model Mayhem page, that the 26-year old wrote, “I am more than comfortable shooting TASTEFUL nudes for the right projects.” Perhaps this is where the forced resignation came into play.
Sprauer says she knew she was risking things when she decided to pose three months ago, but that she wanted to chance things anyway. “I knew I didn’t want to come back next year and I knew I wanted to go to grad school so I decided if I made it to the end of the year I would be happy,” Sprauer told Huffington Post. Adding, “I felt like it would have been nice for my students to finish out the year with me.” “They trusted me and they made me happy so that aspect of it was sad.”
In her own defense however, the former teacher insists she did nothing wrong (that is questionable), saying, “I don’t make pornography. I don’t open my legs on camera. I take swimsuit glamour style photography.” To each their own, but teachers posing in bikinis will not bode well at ANY school at ANY time. And while it has been confirmed that Sprauer is no longer employed by that Florida high school, a representative for the school district declined to comment, stating it was a “personal matter.”
Despite not being a presence in her students’ every day lives anymore, Olivia says she still has plans to attend her student’s graduation ceremony later this spring. Regarding the circumstances surrounding her resignation Sprauer says, “They are happy for me.” “They know I love them.”
