Kate Upton is one of the most popular models out there as her face has graced the covers of many magazines and many commercials, but Upton says she is treated unfairly due to her good looks.
In the September issue of Elle, Upton opens about the flack she receives for being a model:
“People deal with models like they are children. They think they can pull one over on you. It’s actually funny. I’m always like, I’m about to pull something on you, and you’re so focused on thinking I’m dumb you’re not even going to know.”
Upton also reveals how awful she felt after posing for her first Sports Illustrated cover:
“After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month. Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something. I’m not a toy, I’m a human. I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s–t out.”
This is a tough spot that Upton has put herself in because she set out to be a model. Along with the money and fame that comes with it, Upton must also accept that some men she meet will see her as the fantasy that they have sprung on in their heads. Upton has chosen a career where her looks pay her bills, so she must be prepared to deal with everything that her career involves.
Upton seems to have a good head on her shoulders so I’m sure she will handle her business.
