Prince Harry was locked in a cold chamber over night. Thankfully, it was all for a good cause, to raise money for Walking with the Wounded, to help veterans.
Training for a race across Antarctica as part of the Walking With the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge, Prince Harry prepared in temperatures of -49 degrees. When asked how it was, Harry smiled and said, ‘cold.’
Another big name who will be competing in the race is Alexander Skarskard, from True Blood. Skarsgard spoke to E!Online about the race saying,
“I’m part of the U.S. team and I was just honored when they asked me. It’s called Walking With the Wounded, the charity. We’re gonna ski to the South Pole with three teams with four wounded soldiers on each team—a British team with Prince Harry and Dominic West from The Wire is with The Commonwealth [Canadian-Australian] Team and I’m with the Americans.”
The competition will see the three groups embark on a 208-mile trek across the frozen continent that will take place over a month during Antarctica’s summer—winter here in the U.S. The teams will face below-zero temperatures, blizzards and dangerous ravines as they make their way across a harsh, icy landscape.
The Prince turns 29 this weekend. It looks like the playboy, partying boy has grown up and become a man.
