Michael Strahan Will Join ‘Good Morning America’
Michael Strahan may be joining “Good Morning America,” CNN is reporting.
Strahan is slated to join the top-rated ABC morning show appearing in regular segments beginning at 7 a.m., before going to co-host with Kelly Ripa on “Live with Kelly and Michael” at 9 a.m.
The former NFL star has made a smooth transition to broadcasting. He’s been an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday since 2008 and joined Live! in 2012.
With the departure of news anchor Josh Elliott this week and meteorologist Sam Champion in December. George Stephanopoulos is the only male anchor on a team that includes Amy Robach, Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee, so Strahan will help balance out the testatrone levels on GMA.
The deal has reportedly been in the works for months and should be announced next week.
