Criminal Minds Recap 1/14/15 – Season 10 Ep. 12 “The Forever People”
This week’s episode of Criminal Minds opens with a male and a female boxer sparring in a sectioned-off portion of a gym. As the female boxer takes another punch at the male boxer, the identity of the female boxer is revealed through a flashback. We see a quick flash of JJ being tortured by Tivon Askari in Afghanistan. After the horrid scene, she comes back to reality, and ends the boxing session. The next time we see JJ, she is in the women’s locker room sitting on the bench gathering her thoughts. Her cell phone receives a text, “got a case” she briefly looks at it, and begins to get ready. As she is standing in front of her locker, she slowly pulls up her shirt to reveal a large wound on the side of her stomach. JJ touches the wound and another Afghanistan flashback quickly passes through her mind.
This week’s slideshow is hosted by Garcia, she shows the profilers a photo of a frozen, deceased women by the name of Sarah Rhodes. Her body was found in Boulder City, Nevada. Thus far, there are no clues on the cause of death, however, JJ notices an electrical burn mark on her breast bone.
Later that night, Carl Mason is sitting on a bench at a bus stop. The City bus pulls up to the bus stop to let an elderly lady disembark. As the bus pulls away, Carl is still sitting on the bench. Minutes pass, as a silver minivan pulls up to the bus stop, the driver throws a ski mask out the passenger side window, and parks the vehicle. Jon Kanak, the unsub, gets out of the van and walks toward Carl. When the two men meet Jon, places plastic wrist ties on Carl’s wrist, and escorts him to the back of the minivan. The next time we see Carl, he is in a large freezer asking the unsub is this Level 2? The unsub proudly says, “yes, this is your baptism” as Carl takes off his mask.
