GoDaddy 2015 Super Bowl Puppy Ad Pulled Due to Outrage and Controversy – Video
GoDaddy has pulled their 2015 Super Bowl puppy ad titled ‘Journey Home’ on Tuesday following alot of controversy and outrage.
In the commercial, a puppy named Buddy falls out of the back of a truck and is separated from his family, but manages to travel through harsh conditions and find his way home. Upon his return little Buddy hears, “I’m so glad you made it home… because I just sold you on this website I built with GoDaddy.com.” Ouch!!
As you can imagine, animal rights organizations went crazy and GoDaddy realized the error of their ways and promptly pulled the ad.
Despite the decision to remove the commercial, PETA still had harsh words for GoDaddy, saying in a statement, “GoDaddy’s now-yanked commercial showed that anyone who sells a dog online is a callous jerk. PETA liked that about the ad. The sale of animals online and from pet stores and breeders should be roundly condemned, and it was today. GoDaddy did the right thing by swiftly promoting adoption. PETA’s message is that when you buy a dog from a pet store or a breeder, a dog in an animal shelter dies.”
