Married at First Sight: The First Year – Recap 1/13/15 What Are Jamie and Doug, Courtney and Jason Up To?
Married at First Sight: The First Year returns as a follow-up to Married at First Sight where we saw three couples get married after meeting their spouse for the first time.
We fell in love with Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner and Cortney and Jason and cheered them on, while we had to say good-bye to Vaughn and Monet, who chose not to stay together. In Married at First Sight: The First Year, viewers will see Jamie and Doug, and Cortney and Jason, continue their journeys from the six month mark of marriage to their March 2015 one year anniversary. From the holidays to birthdays to moving into new homes – viewers will see the two couples mark many “firsts” together, as well as receive advice and guidance from season one’s trusted specialists, including – sexologist, Dr. Logan Levkoff; psychologist, Dr. Joseph Cilona; and sociologist, Dr. Pepper Schwartz.
What can we expect on the first episode of the season? We will see Doug and Jamie move into their first home in New Jersey and Cortney and Jason mourn the loss of Jason’s mother, who battled lung cancer during Married at First Sight.
The show jumps right into Jamie and Doug talking about having babies and their big movie to New Jersey.
Jason and Cortney have been under a lot of stress. Jason has been in the academy to be a fire fighter. While Jason is trying his best, but is completely burned out.
We learn that Cortney met Jason’s mom once, the day before she died.
We see Jamie and Doug move into their new home and Jamie tells the camera how happy she is with both her marriage and Doug’s family. She grew up in a terrible home and never had a support system. The exact opposite of Doug’s family, who helped them move into their new home.
Jamie meets with Doug’s parents for lunch where she reveals to them that they are looking for a car, big enough to hold babies. Doug’s mother realizes Jamie has baby fever and tells the camera that she wishes Jamie and Doug would wait to get to know each other better before having children.
Meanwhile, Doug’s parents are forcing Jamie to take their car. She feels really uncomfortable taking it but finally agrees. She tells the camera that this is just unheard of in her family.
