Video: Will Ferrell Throws Basketball in Cheerleaders Face – Carried Out By Security
Will Ferrell attended a Pelicans-Lakers game in New Orleans where he had to be dragged out by security after hitting a cheerleader in the face with a basketball. Thankfully, the incident was all for a movie – but not before twitter went crazy wondering what was wrong with Will Ferrell.
The incident was staged for the movie, Daddy’s Home, starring Ferrell with actors Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini and Hannibal Buress.
In the scene, Ferrell’s character was attempting a half-court shot with the cheerleaders lined up alongside him. Instead of aiming for the basket, he threw the ball directly into the face of one of the cheerleaders. The cheerleader was actually a stunt person, who was in on the film.
Daddy’s home is about a divorced man whose ex-wife re-marries someone who is very uptight. He then re-enters her life and wreaks havoc.
Within minutes of the shocking (but fake) incident, photos and videos hit the internet.
Will has been busy, with three movies set to be released in 2015. Get Hard, starring Kevin Hart, is about a millionaire James King (played by Ferrell), who is nailed for fraud and heading to jail in San Quentin. To prepare for jail he turns to Darnell Lewis (played by Kevin Hart) to prep him to go behind bars.
He is also starring in Zeroville with Megan Fox, James Franco and Seth Rogan. The movie is about a young actor who arrives in Hollywood in 1969 during a transitional time in the Industry.
What do you think about the stunt? Did you really think Will Ferrell would interrupt a game to throw a basketball in a cheerleader’s face or did you realize it was all a stunt from the beginning?
It definitely looks real. We have a Vine of the incident on the next page. Check it out and let us know what you think.
