American Idol 2015 continued the long process of vetting through thousands of wanna be singers, hoping to make it to Hollywood and beyond. Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. have listened, laughed and cried with too many contestants to count. The judges gave more than 200 contestants golden tickets to Hollywood and Hollywood Week took place on American Idol over the last four episodes. The judges evaluated and eliminated contestants from Hollywood Week as we head toward the top 24 and when the real fun begins.

When Hollywood Week is over, 48 singers remain. With American Idol trying to raise the ratings and bring in more viewers, we saw a twist on Wednesday’s episode. Each artist took the stage at the House of Blues in Los Angeles for a performance in front of a live audience. Following their performance, the judges decided who made the cut and let each contestant know whether they made it into the Top 24. The contestants were going from 48 to 24 on American Idol based on their performance at the House of Blues.

Who are the Top 24 on American Idol?

Michael Simeon, Jennifer Lopez’s favorite after slow dancing with him at an audition, proved he can sing different types of music, when he rapped. He was the first to score a seat in the Top 24 on American Idol.
Lovey James, 17, not only has a YouTube following but is also a favorite of the judge, making it to the next round.

Maddie Walker

Maddie Walker, the 16 year old country singer who was initially rejected was brought back by the judges after they immediately regretted their decision. Maddie had a sing-off with Rachel Hallack. Walker ultimately won and Hallack was eliminated, ending her dreams of being the next American Idol.

The show ended with a cliffhanger, with Hollywood Anderson’s fate hanging in the balance. Anderson was a favorite with in the audition round with his original song “My Best Friend,” but went on Hollywood Week, where he stumbled a bit.

His result, and the rest of the Top 24, will be revealed on Thursday’s episode, leading to a final breakdown of 12 men and 12 women. What do you think of the results so far?
