Lindsay Lohan Back In Legal Trouble

Lindsay Lohan – who is currently residing in London – has found herself back in some legal trouble. Unfortunately for the Mean Girls star, who is currently re-vamping her image away from Hollywood, this is nothing new.

Here’s the back story. Back in 2012 Lindsay was charged with reckless driving and sentenced to complete 240 hours of community service, which should have been completed recently. However, 125 of those hours – which Lindsay supposedly completed while in London – were not completed to the court’s satisfaction. Why not?

Well, Lindsay was trying to pass off “work shadowing” as community service. Basically, she was letting a few kids and young adults from a charity organization hang out with her while she was rehearsing and preparing for Speed the Plow, the West End play that she starred in. Whether they were actually doing anything doing that time remains to be seen, and could be what caused the judge to reject the hours. It’s unclear if Lindsay was acting as a mentor/coach of some sorts for the youngsters – perhaps spending time with them to prepare them for a career in acting, or if she was simply letting them hang out with her and signing autographs for them.

Luckily for Lindsay, she’s catching yet another break. Failing to complete her court ordered community service could have landed the recently rehabbed star in jail, but it appears that the judge took some notice of the fact that she’s been on her best behavior recently, and has instead extended her probation for 3 months. If Lindsay can complete 125 hours of community service in 3 months, then she’s off the hook and everything’s settled. If not, “there’s still the possibility of jail time,” says Santa Monica Chief Deputy City Attorney, Terry White.

What will Lindsay be doing to fulfill her court ordered charitable obligations? Her attorney, Shawn Holley, says that “her passion is really working with kids,” and that Lindsay really enjoys doing community service, so it shouldn’t be a problem for her to complete her hours and move on from this whole mess.

What do you think of Lindsay’s latest legal troubles? Should she have been given a second chance, or should she have been sent right to jail? Let us know in the comments!
