Nashville Recap 2/25/15 Season 3 Episode 14: “Somebody Pick Up My Pieces”
Nashville returned with a week filled of drama – Luke trying to deal with his break up from Rayna, Juliette taking scandalous photos of her baby bump and Teddy trying to cover up his tryst with a prostitute.
Rayna deals with a lot more Luke drama than she probably saw coming. With Jeff out of Edgehill and the whole record company going down in general, Luke and Jeff team up to make a new record label. The two end up recruiting Will Lexington to the label. He isn’t so sure about what to do, so he turns to Deacon for advice on the matter. He simply tells him, “I reckon I’d go with the devil I know, than the devil I don’t know.” That’s pretty wise Deacon like advice, if you ask me.
Rayna is basically the best person ever to have on your side. This time, she’s going to bat on behalf of Sadie, who’s being sued by her ex. Rayna sweetly holds her hand and supports her as they have to go face to face with her ex. The best Rayna quote ever, “I don’t know what your problem is, maybe the Good Lord only gave you 2 inches.” Whoa, you tell him girl!
The claws are definitely out but that’s a big reason why I love Rayna, she stands up for the people that are being manipulated or controlled and she absolutely destroys whoever is hurting the people she cares about. Okay, I’m just about finished talking about the awesomeness that is Rayna James, but seriously, she’s a force to be reckoned with for sure.
Scarlett ends up joining Avery and Gunnar back on the stage. The three love performing together and it’s safe to say I love it too. However, how does Scar feel about singing with two of her ex boyfriends? Talk about awkward!
Even though Jeff is the one that convinced Luke to start up his own label, he kicked Jeff off of the project. He believed that Jeff getting fired from Edgehill the way that he did would be bad press for the label and therefore cut ties with Fordham. Jeff was obviously beyond bummed about getting fired twice in the span of only three days. He goes to Layla’s house who says that he could receive cuts considering he helped her get signed to Rayna’s label. (more on that one later) So Jeff decides to be Layla’s manager. We’ll see how long that one lasts!
Juliette takes some pretty scandalous naked pictures for Vogue showing off her baby bump. This is still a pretty boring plot for Juliette. But what more can they do with this pregnancy storyline? She can’t go all crazy while she’s with child, she has to have at least some kind of normalcy going on.
Besides Scarlett reuniting with the “band,” she’s crazy stressed about Deacon. She’s been forced to care for him a lot since he’s been sick. Which of course she doesn’t mind, but it can get to be a little much, especially when he doesn’t seem to be fighting all that hard. She ends up confiding in the cute doctor who’s caring for Deacon. Maybe he’ll end up cheering Scarlett up when they go on their date!
Keep reading to see what happens with Teddy and the prostitute he was with.
