Johnson showed she is more than Anastasia Steele in the promo where she and Taran Killam openly begged Johnson’s mom, Melanie Griffith to see the hit movie, 50 Shades of Grey. In the promo, Johnson tells Killam the movie, 50 Shades of Grey is about a woman who is trying to decide what color gray to paint her bedroom. After going through the different shades of gray, Dakota reveals to Killam that the movie is actually about a young woman who gets her tushie hit with a belt.

Johnson’s father is Don Johnson of Miami Vice fame. The fact that Don Johnson is Dakota’s father isn’t lost on Taran Killam, who is wearing an outfit that could easily have been worn by Johnson, himself.

For those of you haven’t seen 50 Shades of Grey it is a steamy tale about a man, Christian Grey, who is a billionaire business man who enters into a masochistic relationship with a college student, Anastasia Steele. Steele brings out a side of Christian Grey he never knew he had. His fear of intimacy stems from secrets in his past.

The movie received horrible reviews but managed to top the box office for the two weeks it has been out. At the center of the bad reviews is Dakota Johnson, who is said to be boring. Will Johnson be able to overcome the horrible reviews and show a side of herself we haven’t gotten to see just yet. Johnson and Doran’s chemistry also came into question in the movie, with critics saying they do not have any chemistry.
