American Idol returned with 11 performers following the amazing save last week of Qaasim Middleton by the judges. The save was shocking as it was used veryearly on in the season. While the save has been used by the judges in previous seasons, it has never been used this early. As a result of having 11 contestants left, there were two eliminations on 80’s night of American Idol .

The 11 remaining contestants on American Idol 2015 were:

Adanna Duru
Clark Beckham
Daniel Seavey
Jax
Joey Cook
Maddie Walker
Nick Fradiani
Qaasim Middleton
Quentin Alexander
Rayvon Owen
Tyanna Jones

Before the contestants sang, David Hasselhoff brought out the results…..and sang a medley of hit songs. Boy George, a famous 80’s icon, was also there and joined the top eleven for “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club.

The new process for American Idol is to announce those singers, in any order, who made it through. They then perform a song that will be voted on by America for the next week’s competition.

Below you will find the contestants who were voted through and the judges comments:

Daniel Seavey
Song:”You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall and Oates
Judges Comments: Keith: needs to get more comfortable; Jennifer: loved this for him; Harry: stop dancing!

Quentin Alexander
Song: “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins
Judges Comments: Jennifer: loves his smile, home run; Harry: agrees with Jennifer because he digs so deep; Keith: loved it.

Joey Cook
Song: “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper
Judges Comments: Harry: she seemed distracted; Keith: she set her own bar too high so tonight was inconsistent but says that he can see his wife and kids dancing to the song; Jennifer: in theory, a good song but did not match. Boy George comes to console her.

Tyanna Jones
Song: “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston
Judges Comments: Keith: great and she is the only one who can take on a Whitney song; Jennifer: she needs to get out of her head but other than that was a lot of fun; Harry: she had fun with the song.

Jax
Song: “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi
Judges Comments: Jennifer: loved everything about it, this is the original Jax; Harry: originality brought her there but wished that she had done it all on the piano; Keith: she has so much originality but felt like it was not put together right.

Nick Frandiani
Song: “Man In The Mirror” by Michael Jackson
Judges Comments: Harry: fantastic vocal; Keith: needs to relax; Jennifer: started singing to them towards the end.
