Harrison Ford in Plane Crashes Where He Was the Pilot – In Serious Condition
Harrison Ford was piloting a small plane that has crashed. The actor is said to have been injured in the crash, but was conscious and breathing when he was transported to the hospital.
According to TMZ News, Ford was piloting a vintage two seater fighter plane Thursday, March 5, 2015 when the plane crashed into a golf course in Venice, California. Ford is said to have suffered multiple gashes to his head and was bleeding.
Ford is a longtime aviator, who has piloted planes and helicopters before. This is Ford’s second plane crash, as he was in a crash in 1999, while he piloted an aircraft near Santa Clarita, California. He and another pilot on the plane at the time were not injured.
Harrison Ford is married to actress, Calista Flockhart. The couple have an adopted son together, Liam.
Harrison is a movie icon, having been an actor for 40 years. Best known for his role in Star Wars as Hans Solo, Ford also starred in the Indiana Jones series as Indiana himself. Ford will reprise the role of Solo for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, set to come out in 2015.
Ford has had a tough year, injuring himself while filming Star Wars in June 2014. Ford suffered a fractured ankle when a hydraulic door fell on him. He was rushed to the hospital where he was said to have needed surgery on his ankle. Ford returned to the set in mid-August after two months off to recover from his injury.
While Harrison Ford is a well known actor and has been nominated for a number of awards, he has only walked away with an award on a couple of occasions, including a People’s Choice Award back in 1998 and 1999.
We are hoping Harrison Ford makes a speedy recovery and lets someone else pilot his planes for now on.
