Previously on Pretty Little Liars, our four Liars were scrambling on their feet to find evidence to prove Alison’s innocence as well as keep Mike safe from any of Ali’s remaining lies and schemes. We had major OMG moments and this week begins Alison’s trial for Mona’s murder. Will she walk free or be convicted guilty of all her lies?

Tonight’s episode of Pretty Little Liars brought our five liars to the trial of Alison DiLaurentis for the murder of Mona Vanderwaal and it did not stop short of surprises, twists, revelations and more. As the girls get smarter and closer to figuring out who A is on the outside, Hanna and Alison are dealing with jail time. The episode starts with a meeting between Alison and her lawyer Rebecca, in which Rebecca advises Alison that the key to winning isn’t to tell the truth or hit the jury with sob stories but to make one unsure of the evidence and the case and they win. Mrs. Marin visits Hanna in jail and tells her she is going to attend Alison’s trial, even though Hanna doesn’t want her to. She tells Hanna that she will do anything to keep Hanna safe and that is her only priority, not Alison. This scene showed a side of Hanna we haven’t really seen in a while in which she sticks up for Alison and tells her mom that she’s innocent no matter of what’s happened in the past. We haven’t seen Hanna stick up for Alison since season two, in fact at the beginning of season five she hated Alison’s guts and wished she hadn’t come home, though she did help her get back there. Can they ever make up their minds about anything? LOL.

Back in Rosewood, Spencer, Aria and Emily realize that the number on the pizza receipt from last episode with Varjack’s name on it is real and matches the one they found in the newspaper ads from Ali. When Spencer tries to call it, no one answers so she sends a text from Caleb’s burner phone. If you’re unaware what a burner phone is, it’s just an untraceable cell phone, which was weird being that he mentioned having a lot of them. Sidenote: Caleb is at the top of the suspect list, he’s always been known as the best hacker and tech boy! End Sidenote During this scene we see that the girls are also feeling uneasy about attending Alison’s trial, and with the warning Spencer’s mom gave them, maybe they should, but then again at the end of the day, Alison was their best friend and they do love her. Enter stage left, Mr. DiLaurentis, yes he’s back, again, he always comes back at the most unruly times, where are you when things are normal Mr. D? Huh? Planning A stuff? Totally kidding, we don’t think Mr. D is A but he does have a temper problem. After spotting Spencer and Jason talking outside, he storms over and orders Jason to get into the car and away from Spencer. When Spencer tries to explain, he shuns her and tells her to back off and specifically stay on her side of the gate. Back at the Brew, Aria and Andrew meet and discuss his successful tutor skills for helping her pass her test. He mentions something to Aria which was pretty weird, basically saying Mona got what she deserved for thinking she was the best and she deserved it. This got everyone thinking, is Andrew in on Mona’s murder? He saw her as competition, the reason everyone thought Ali killed her, who’s to say Andrew didn’t?
