Video: Kelly Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon Sing History of Duets
Kelly Clarkson just released a new album, Piece by Piece, and during her press interviews she shared what a difficult time she had finding musicians who would sing a duet with her. Jimmy Fallon found it hard to believe, especially since he was more than willing to sing with Kelly. Joining Clarkson on stage on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the pair performed a medley of the greatest duets of all time. And as expected, knocked it out of the park!
Clarkson recorded most of the album, Piece by Piece, during a very rough pregnancy. During the pregnancy she suffered from severe morning sickness. The morning sickness was so severe she had to be hospitalized at one point.
Clarkson, who gave birth to her first baby, daughter River Rose Blackstock, last June is managing being a working mother despite the warnings from other parents. Clarkson revealed in an interview with USA Today,
“Everybody said it was going to be really hard, working mom and chaotic, and that I wouldn’t be able to fit everything in. But she’s actually made me more peaceful and laid back.”
Piece by Piece is Clarkson’s first album of new studio material since 2011’s Stronger. While Clarkson usually writes her own songs, her pregnancy took a lot out of her and she only wrote three of the songs on the album.
Kelly Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon did an amazing job of singing duets together. The songs they sang were:
I’ve Got You Babe by Sonny Bono and Cher
Mockingbird – Carole King and James Taylor
Islands in the Stream – Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers
Don’t You Want Me Baby – by Human League
Stop Dragging My Heart Around – Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty
Don’t Go Breaking My Heart – Kiki Dee and Elton John
Lift Me Up – Joe Crocker and Jennifer Warnes
Opposites Attract – Paula Abdul and Skat Kat
Learn to Love Again – fun. and Pink
Endless Love – Lionel Richie and Diana Ross
