The Voice Knockouts: Sawyer Fredericks Vs. Mia Z. Vs. Paul Pfau – Who Went Home?
For the first time in the 8 seasons of The Voice, there was a three way battle between Sawyer Fredericks, Mia Z, and Paul Pfau.
The Knockout rounds feature two contestants on a team singing a song one after the other, unlike the battle rounds, where they sing at the same time. The contestants choose their own songs that will determine if they stay or if they go. Unfortunately, at the end of the knockout rounds, there can only be one winner. The contestant who is not chosen will go home, if they are not stolen by another coach.
Pharrell making three contestants faceoff instead of two. In this case, he could choose two winners, and the third contestant would be going home, unless of course, another coach decides to steal him/her.
MIA Z. VS. PAUL PFAU VS. SAWYER FREDERICKS: Paul chooses “I Don’t Need No Doctor” by Ray Charles; Mia chooses “Hold On I’m Comin'” by Sam and Dave; Sawyer chooses “Collide” by Howie Day yet he opts not to use his guitar, as they say it is his crutch. The judges comments were as follows: Adam: they would make a great band, Mia has an insane voice while Paul can sing and play guitar as Sawyer is amazing; Blake: thinks Mia will be the one staying; Xtina: they are all great in different ways. WINNERS: SAWYER and MIA. Paul is up for a steal but no one steals him.
It was no surprise when Pharrell declared Fredericks the first winner, following by Mia. Unfortunately, no one stole Pfau, so he was eliminated.
