“The Voice” finally finished up the blind auditions after five episodes and then we were treated to the first of the battle rounds. You can keep up with season eight of “The Voice” here.

voiceAdam Levine was the first to complete his team and Blake Shelton was last and they really had some great talent. One girl who wanted to be on Team Christina went another way, mainly because Xtina’s team was full. But Xtina did fulfill the fangirl’s dream by singing “Impossible” with her. That was either the sweetest thing that Christina Aguilera could have done or the most narcissistic. You can be the judge of that one. When it was time for the battle rounds to begin, we were introduced to the team mentors. Team Adam had Ellie Goulding; Team Blake had Meghan Trainor; Team Xtina had Nick Jonas and Team Pharrell had Lionel Richie. This is Richie’s second time as a mentor so he must be so excited that he is so well-respected.

The battle rounds continue this evening and each coach has a certain amount of steals to use. Team Xtina and Team Adam have already used up one if theirs and the teams are now reshaping. Sometimes, the coaches wonder why they even team two amazing singers up together because the choice will be super hard. Team Blake’s singers actually made mentor Meghan Trainor cry with their rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” That was a beautiful moment! There will be steals, great music, tears and battles between the contestants and the coaches when they really want someone.
