“The Voice” is holding strong during the knockout rounds and some singers are showing that they are forces to be reckoned with. You can keep up with season eight of “The Voice” right here.

tehvoiceeeeThe knockouts are far different from the battle rounds. In the battles, the coaches paired two people up against each other with the same song. Whoever outsang said song moved on to the knockouts while the other person was either stolen by another coach…or sent home. With the knockouts, it is all on the singers to decide what they want to do. They get to choose the songs, they get to choose the arrangement; the only thing their coach decides is who will duel with them. Back for season eight is reigning champ Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Wiliams. For the battle rounds, they each had a mentor to assist them. Team Blake had Meghan Trainor; Team Adam had Ellie Goulding; Team Christina had Nick Jonas and Team Pharrell had two-time mentor Lionel Richie.

Now that the singers are essentially on their own, they meet with one key adviser, Nate Ruess from the band FUN. He is a singer as well as a songwriter and an all-around, ha, fun guy. His job is to sit with the coaches and take the singers to the next level; to make it so hard on the coaches to decide who to take to the live rounds and who to leave behind. As opposed to the battle rounds where the coaches had two steals each, they now just have one per team. It gives them a chance to regain those that they may have lost before or to reshape their team as a whole. Whomever moves on from the knockouts will go live where America will finally get a chance to vote.
