On tonight’s episode of 19 Kids and Counting on TLC, a gender-reveal party for Jill [Duggar] and Derick Dillard’s baby is organized. (Spoiler Alert: She had her baby yesterday!) Meanwhile, a surprise is planned for Derick’s mom in Omaha.

Jill’s “Buddy Team” (younger siblings that she’s been partnered up with since their birth) will be attending the ultrasound with Jill and Derick, and also helping them get supplies for the party. The plan is to decorate the house in all pink and blue, and make the big reveal using a piñata (pink filling for a girl, blue for a boy).

Meanwhile, Derick’s brother Dan is heading out to Omaha to surprise their mother who is undergoing cancer treatments and will be unable to attend the gender reveal party. She thinks that she’ll be watching the gender reveal via video conference, but Dan has actually brought some pink and blue supplies out, and when he gets the text message from Jill and Derick he’ll be hosting a mini-gender reveal party for her. So sweet!

As Jill and Derick got ready for their ultrasound Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar reminisced on their first experiences becoming parents 27 years ago when their eldest child, Josh, was born.

Once Jill, Derick, and the Buddy Team have left the ultrasound clinic they head back to the Dillard household to fill the piñata with the appropriate colored candy and get everything ready.

After 7 (!!) of Jill’s siblings got a chance to swing at the piñata it was finally cracked open, with  candy falling out and the Buddy Team spraying some  silly string from the second floor balcony… and it was all blue! And over in Omaha, Dan delivered a blue balloon and bouquet to his mother so that she could share the joy with the family and have a bit of a distraction.

Tonight we’re being treated two to episodes of 19 Kids and Counting – keep reading to see what happened on the second episode!
