“American Idol” is down to the top eight. Well, nine singers will be there this evening but only eight will be moving on as the judges have used their sole save of the season. You can keep up with season fourteen of “American Idol” right here.

Last week, it was eighties week and let’s just say, it did not disappoint. Culture Club lead singer Boy George was the week’s mentor and of course, I fan-girled out as did many of the singers. Funny enough, I do not believe that any of them were alive during the eighties. Fortunately, judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. were alive so they are well-versed in the music. I think the best part of the show was the very beginning when David Hasselhoff brought out the nights envelope to host Ryan Seacrest. The former “Knight Rider” and “Baywatch” star went on to sing a medley of eighties hits. You can watch David Hasselhoff looking ridiculous right here.

Because the judges had used their save the week prior on Quaasim, it was a double elimination. Maddie Walker and Adanna Duru were eliminated so here is who is left:

  1. Clark Beckham
  2. Daniel Seavey
  3. Jax
  4. Joey Cook
  5. Nick Fradiani
  6. Qaasim Middleton
  7. Quentin Alexander
  8. Rayvon Owen
  9. Tyanna Jones

I believe that Daniel Seavey or Joey Cook should be sent home based on their performances last week. Daniel has been consistently off while Joey is using every gimmick she can and it is not faring so well. But that is just my opinion. Tonight, the top eight will be taking it back to 2002 and the first ever season of “American Idol.” They will be honoring Kelly Clarkson, who was the first winner of the show by singing her songs. This should be super exciting and I am hoping Kelly stops by herself to sing and show why she won.

Keep reading to see who was eliminated.
