With fans petitioning for the resurrection of Dr. Derek Shepherd, following his death on Grey’s Anatomy, his co-star Ellen Pompeo has taken to twitter to assure fans of the show, Meredith Grey will be okay.

In her twitter message, Pompeo stated:

“I have always said what keeps me going is the fans.Knowing we move you and inspire you. There are so many people out there who have suffered tremendous loss and tragedy. Husbands and wives of soldiers, victims of senseless violence and parents who have lost children. People who get up each day and do what feels like is the impossible. So it is for these people and in the spirit of resilience I am honored And excited to tell the story of how Meredith goes on in the face of what feels like the impossible. I hope you will all join me on her journey. With gratitude and respect.

The shocking ending of Grey’s Anatomy, where Dr. Derek Shepherd, passes away following a car accident, left viewers everywhere in tears and begging for his return. They have asked Shonda Rhimes, the show’s creator to make it all a bad dream, like the creators of the 80’s hit television series, Dallas, did with Bobby Ewing.

Since Dempsey has one year left on an two year contract he recently signed, fans are wondering what happened? Why would the producers of Grey’s Anatomy let him out of his contract early? This is unheard of in the world of tv.

While we will miss Dr. Derek Shepherd, it is a long shot that he will be brought back to Grey’s Anatomy. The series is in its 11th year and is more likely to go off the air than to have Derek rise from the dead.
