Is Monica Lewinsky Joining The View?
The View has been having problems with sliding ratings for quite a while and what better way to get people to watch the long running show then to bring Monica Lewinsky on as a co-host. Of course, they might want to do a test run with the former mistress of a U.S. President before committing to hiring Lewinsky, but this wouldn’t be the first time the powers that be over at The View have made a mistake.
First they hired Jenny McCarthy and fired the co-host in her first year with The View. Then they re-hired Rosie O’Donnell, who abruptly quit the show the first time she was a co-host, after a bitter dispute with her co-host at the time, Elizabeth Hasselbeck. The second time around, Rosie was rumored to be difficult from the beginning wanting to play the lead on the show, that had been handled by Whoopi Goldberg for seven years. O’Donnell ended up leaving the show citing too much stress, following her announcing she was getting a divorce from her second wife.
Monica Lewinsky is best known for having an affair with President Bill Clinton, while she was an intern at the White House. Since then Lewinsky has re-emerged into the public eye over the last year by embracing an anti-cyber-bullying message, including a piece that appeared in a Vanity Fair essay about her affair with Bill Clinton.
Hiring Lewinsky would definitely create numerous problems for The View, since Hillary Clinton is rumored to be running for President of the United States. Something tells us that the odds of Hillary Clinton and Monica Lewinsky appearing on the same set or even in the same State is something that will be unlikely.
What are your thoughts on Monica Lewinsky joining the cast of The View. Would you tune in? Do you care what she has to say?
