Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are so excited about their newborn son, they are posting photos of Silas Timberlake for all to see. Unlike many celebrities before them, who hide their children, Timberlake and Biel have taken to Instagram to post their first photo.

In the photo, baby Silas is wearing a blue onesie, while Jessica Biel is looking casual sporting a baseball hat.

Justin Timberlake recently won the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards where he called Biel is “favorite collaborator” and said, he was headed home to innovate by learning how to change a poopy diaper and get his swaddle on.

Silas was named for Timberlake’s maternal grandfather, while Randall is both Timberlake’s father’s name and his middle name.

Silas is the first child for both Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, who were married in October 2012. The couple confirmed Biel’s pregnancy in January, after months of speculation. Because they are very private, the couple hasn’t released any details about the birth of Silas.

It is surprising the couple decided to release a photo of baby Silas. Do you think they did this to avoid being chased by the paparazzi? By releasing the photo on their terms, they don’t have to worry about the first photo being released without their permission and the race to get the photo to print for the big payday for the photographer.

Couples before them, like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, had photos of their children released to major magazines and have donated the money they received for the photos to charities. Do you think Jessica and Justin should have done that? They could have posed for a big magazine and had the money donated to a charity of their choice.

Leave us a comment and let us know your thoughts and of course, let us know how cute Silas is. Does anyone else think Silas is the spitting image of his father, Jusin?
