Royal Baby Watch: Parking Ban Extended and A Very Special Anniversary
Royal Watchers are still waiting for news that The Duchess of Cambridge (nee Kate Middleton) has been admitted to the hospital to give birth to her second child, and it seems they may have to wait a bit longer.
An announcement was made this morning that the parking ban put in place around the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London, where Kate will be admitted, has been extended until May 5. Kate’s due date was initially thought to be April 25, with Kate herself telling a well-wisher that her due date was “mid-to-late April,” although the date was never confirmed by Palace officials. At this point, it is unclear as to whether or not Kate is past her due date or if the initial guess was simply incorrect.
For her part, Kate doesn’t seem too concerned. She was seen driving to and from Buckingham Palace yesterday afternoon to take Prince George for his weekly swim lesson, and was seen out and about shopping at Zara Home earlier in the week.
However, there are members of the Royal Family who will miss out on the little Prince or Princess’s arrival now that Kate has (possibly) gone beyond her due date. Prince William – who finished the first segment of his flight training early – is now already a week or so into his six weeks of leave before having to resume training in June. It appears that Kate’s family – including sister Pippa, who frequently takes jaunts out of the country to visit her longtime boyfriend Nico Jackson – are all in place and waiting for the new arrival, while Prince William’s family have been undertaking duties at home and abroad. Prince Harry was back in London for a few days in between military training in Australia, but has since departed and most likely will not meet the fourth in line to the throne until he or she is already a few weeks old.
In other royal news, today marks a very important day for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Kate Middleton) – it’s their four year wedding anniversary!
