Ryan Reynold Hit By a Car – By Paparazzi – Who Then Drives Away
Actor Ryan Reynolds was hit by a car in a hotel parking lot on Sunday, April 12, 2015 while in Vancover for the filming of his new movie, Deadpool.
Both Reynolds publicist and the Vancouver police confirmed that Reynold was the victim of a hit-and-run in a hotel parking lot. His publicist released a statement saying,
“While walking, Ryan was struck by a paparazzi driving a car through an underground parking garage. The man fled the scene. Ryan is okay.”
Thankfully, Reynolds, who is a new father, was not injured.
Reynolds has been in Vancouver shooting his new film, “Deadpool.” The movie synopsis states:
“A former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and adopts the alter ego Deadpool.”
This isn’t the first time the paparazzi has gotten a bit too close to celebrities. Actress Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry even testified in favor of a bill aimed at protecting the children of celebrities and public officials from paparazzi.
The new bill would change the legal definition of harassment to include any conduct that “alarms, annoys torments or terrorizes” a child while photographing or recording that child without express parental consent. Or more specifically – photography that involves “following the child’s activities or lying in wait” and targeting a child because of a parent’s line of work.
As a new father, Ryan Reynolds will now have his daughter, James, with wife, Blake Lively to protect. James Reynolds was born on January 5, 2015. While it was rumored that Lively’s co-stars from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants were the baby’s godmothers, Lively confirmed it was her sister who is really James’ godmother.
What do you think about the paparazzi stalking celebrities? Is that just part of their job or do celebrities have a right to privacy, although their job is very public.
