The Voice Recap 4/8/15- Season 8- The Live Playoffs, Results
“The Voice” will be doing the first live eliminations this evening. It’ll be a mix of America and the judges and will go from twenty singers down to twelve. You can keep up with night one of “The Voice” playoffs right here; night two of “The Voice” live playoffs right here.
Night one, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams’ teams were showcased. We saw and heard ten crazy good singers. We were also treated to a performance by Maroon 5 singing their hit “Sugar.” This was prior to Adam Levine get accosted by a fan on stage when he and his band were doing a show later on. I would have done the same thing but more graceful. Anyways, the following night, ten more great singers performed at Team Christina Aguilera and Team Adam had their time to shine. According to Blake, Christina’s team blew Adam’s miles away. The one thing everyone can agree on is that every singer and contestant is with the right coach.
It was a long road to the live playoffs. We started with the blind auditions where many hopefuls were told to come back next season. Then, each coach brought in a mentor to help their teams for the battle rounds. Two members, one song, one winner but each coach had two steals so they could essentially save someone from losing their dream. The mentors included Lionel Richie, Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor and Ellie Goulding. Following that, we went right to the knockout rounds where each singer chose their own song. Their coach matched them with someone else on the team and along with FUN’s Nate Ruess, were guided to where they needed to be.
During this round, each coach had one steal so they could end up getting back a team member that they had lost in the battles. Monday night, we went live and you could feel the nerves through the television. Tonight, eight singers will be sent home while last years finalist Chris Jamison returns to sing a song with Wiz Khalifa from the film “Furious7.” Crazy good.
Keep reading to see who goes home.
