The Dig Recap: Jehoshaphat 4/30/15
On the last episode, Debbie made a new escape with Josh, only for Josh to murder her and call for Billingham to help, Lynn got wrapped up in the big case and overhears the Ambassador telling someone that she needs to be eliminated, and when Peter and Cohen finally get closer to solving it, Cohen was knocked out by a supposed farmer, and Peter was shot while in the Essene camp. The full recap is this way.
The episode opens as Peter wakes after being unconscious from the gunshot. The Essene is looking after him. Cohen wakes up from his own ordeal and finds out he’s been shoved in a car trunk in a car garage. He breaks out and asks where he is to a passerby. They reply Haifa. He’s surprised. He makes a call to his contacts about any new developments and tells about his own. Their lead for Donaldson has been retired for years. He wants to talk to them. Still in Lynn’s closet, she hears the Ambassador running water, so she makes her escape- but then tries to make a call. Before it’s complete she heard the water stop, so she leaves.
She heads back to her office to get her phone. She calls Peter and tells all about her own night and what went wrong. She sees a coworker, Leah and calls her in. In Israel, Peter gets up. He finds the Essene, and when asked, the Essene explains that Dark Forces did this, and they have Red. They plan to kill her and burn her. Much to Peter’s dismay, he says that they need to stop it. Emma sees he’s up and checks on him. She thanks Essene to be part of the burial for the Essene’s fallen people. He goes on that they’re free to leave, but he has something to show them first. Elswhere, Avram looks on as the Rabbi addresses his people while holding Red on a lead. Avram goes to take Red back, but the Rabbi says he doesn’t need to , his part is over and the cow’s death is the next part in the plan. Back with Peter and the others, the Essene shows them the caverns and explains the Essene peoples’ history with it being a safe haven for them. They go on their way. In town, Lynn meets up with Leah again. She asks for her to get information- a package- a person. She needs to know his name and any other big details- as well as the fact that the Ambassador can’t know. Leah agrees. Peter finally gets hold of Cohen, who is with his mentor, another cop. His father goes on about his own memories about the case with Donaldson, and when Cohen asks to see case files, his mentor admits he doesn’t have them. Elsewhere in the house, we see that notes are scribbled on walls, so that’s hardly true.
