Jamie Foxx Destroyed the National Anthem at Mayweather Pacquiao Fight

By on May 3, 2015

Jamie Foxx sang the National Anthem at the fight of the century, between Floyd Mayweather and Mannie Pacquiao to everyone’s dismay. While Foxx has won Grammy Awards and ironically an Oscar for his portrayal of singer Ray Charles, he was no match for the Star Spangled Banner. His soulful rendition of the anthem fell flat and twitter exploded with harsh criticism of Foxx.

'jamie foxx singing national anthem'

Some of the comments included:

“As if African-Americans aren’t going through a lot already, Jamie Foxx just had to do that to them.”

“I still can’t believe Jamie Foxx added a “hallelujah” after that horrendous performance.”

“Hey how come no one arrests Jamie Foxx for his anthem?”

“Mariah Carey and Beyoncé were in the building and you ask Jamie foxx to sing 😂😂😂 #MayPac”

The Mayweather/Pacquiao fight was one of the most watched events in the world, with celebrities filling the high priced seats, just to say they were there.

Some of the celebrity sightings included Beyonce and Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Christina Milian,  Justin Bieber and Jimmy Kimmel, who both walked the fighters out and into the ring, Drew Barrymore, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Nicki Minaj and many more! The celebrities who weren’t at the fight, were most likely at the Kentucky Derby, another big event taking place over the weekend.
