Celebs-Bashing Caitlyn Jenner- Snoop Dogg Isn’t the Only One
Caitlyn Jenner is finally feeling good in her own skin after transitioning from Olympian and reality star Bruce Jenner. She has received praise from President Barack Obama and even very silent step-son Robert Kardashian. But not everyone is supportive of this transformation and that, personally, makes me sick. I can say that I have had people go on to my social media accounts and am appalled at the comments being made. Let’s start with Tom Cruise’s son Connor, who went on a Twitter rant then quickly tried to “clarify” what he had written. Caitlyn is being honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at this years ESPY’s and not everyone is thinking that she deserves it. Great Olympian, motivational speaker and super brave in the face of adversity? I think that is pretty noteworthy.
When Connor first tweeted, this is what he had to say: “Really?? Winning the AA award for courage?? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK’D. Don’t get me wrong. Do what you feel like doing and don’t let anyone stop you. But everyone is taking this way too seriously…There are so many more important things that should be talked about…And SO MANY MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE that actually deserve an award.” Really? Okay, yeah we could argue all day that the wrong people have won Oscars and Emmy’s and so on and so forth but this is really just an extremely brave and bold move that would be recognized by another organization if not the ESPY’s. He then realized that what he said was not appropriate and took it back, saying: “Totally twisting what I said, if you read what I said I totally support being happy and am glad she is happy.” Not buying it.
But he is not the only one with strong opinions about Caitlyn and the transition. Drake Bell tweeted that he was still calling Caitlyn “Bruce” but then deleted it. Snoop Dogg, Snoop Lion or whatever he is called these days, tweeted this: “Shout out to Akon! He is about to supply 600 million africans with solar power. Im really upset that this isn’t major news but that science project bruce jenner is #Society.” Timbaland also took a crack at Caitlyn and now, it is really getting to the point where it just is wrong. I take exception to anyone tweeting when they cannot properly spell their insults and/or have their own “issues” so to speak. What I think matters is the love that Caitlyn is getting, not just from family but from stars like Ellen DeGeneres, Laverne Cox and Jessica Lange, whom he has been physically compared to. Haters gonna hate…
